Mother's Day weekend Matt and I found out that I was pregnant again. However, after having a tough first trimester with Rilynn and having miscarried in January, we waited a while to tell anyone that we were expecting. Thankfully, this pregnancy has been completely different and I am now 26 weeks pregnant with a healthy, and active, baby!
Just as we did with Rilynn, we decided not to find out the gender of the baby while at the doctor's office. Instead, we had the ultrasound technician write it in a card and seal the envelope so we could open it with just the two of us during a special evening. Although having quite a few suspicions that this baby was a boy, our initial plan was to wait until Matt and I went to Maine in September to open the card. However, this plan changed just a little...while in New Jersey in August, Matt wanted to open the card so that he could share the news with his grandfather, whom a baby boy would be named after and also who we knew would keep the news to himself. One night at sunset we snuck down to the dock and opened the card while overlooking Poppop's lake and soon discovered that we were correct, we are having a baby boy!!! Poppop was excited to hear the news and looks forward to welcoming another Jack into the McKillop family in January.
Matt and I (and Poppop) kept the secret for another couple of weeks before inviting our families to get together for a Gender Reveal Party. On August 15th, my parents along with Kelly, Lem, Gabbie & Coen came down to Peachtree City for an "August Birthday Celebration" (Matt's Birthday is 8/9, my mom's birthday is 8/21, Matt's mom's birthday is 8/25). Little did everyone know, Matt and I spent that morning baking a cake and hiding charms between the layers that revealed the gender of the this Baby McKillop. Below are a few pictures of the party as well as me pregnant.
