Three Generations of McKillops

Rilynn's Big Adventures

Yesterday we took Rilynn on a walk to get some fresh air. We walked her around the neighborhood in her new stroller...

I think she slept through most of it though....

Today was Rilynn's first check up at the doctor. Everything checked out well and Rilynn did great at the doctor's office. Here are some pictures of her trip.

Dr. Quinn listen's to Rilynn's heartbeat.

Today Rilynn weighed 7lbs and 2.5 oz.

Rilynn's First Bath...

Day three and Rilynn had her first night at home last night. She didn't give Mom and Dad too much opportunity to sleep. She was fussy and hungry most of the night so Mom and Dad didn't get to sleep until 5 AM. Since then Rilynn has been resting comfortably. We put together her pack-n-play and let here sleep in there for a while....I think she likes it. After some rest and before her next feeding Rilynn was ready for her first bath. It was a family affair as Mom, Aunt K, and the grandmom's all had to get in on the action. I'm not as convinced that Rilynn enjoyed her first bath as much as her pack-n-play.

Rilynn's First Photo Shoot...

Before we brought Rilynn home we had her first picture taken...

These are some pictures we took as Rilynn prepared for her first photo shoot.

Rilynn comes home...

We brought Rilynn home on Saturday night. The grand parents did a great job preparing the house for Rilynn's home coming. Here are some pictures from the occassion.

She wasn't a big fan of the car seat at first but after some coaxing from Mom Rilynn settled in...

It was nice to finally have her home...

Rilynn's First GaTech Football Conversation

...Just in time for tomorrow's Georgia Tech - Mississippi State game.

Holding daddy's hand

Rilynn Arrives!

At 12:06 AM on September 19th Rilynn Kelly McKillop came into the world at 7lbs/7oz and 19.75 inches.

Brooke was induced at 10 AM on the 18th....14 hours later we had our little girl.

We didn't get much sleep last night so today we're going to try to relax and get settled with the newest member of our family.

We'd like to thank everyone for their well wishes and support.

Enjoy the first pictures of Rilynn.

2 more days!

I went back to the doctor on Friday and things seem to be moving right along. I am only dialated to 2cm, however, everything else is in place and ready to go. So with that, my doctor has decided to induce me this Thursday! That is if I don't go into labor on my own beforehand. I am actually glad that she has decided to induce a week early so my parents, sister, and Matt's parents can actually be here for the birth.

Matt and I are very excited! We installed the car seat and finished hanging artwork in the nursery yesterday. Below are a few pictures of the finished product!

And here is a picture of my ever growing belly! In this picture I am 38 weeks, 3 days.

Matt and I will continue to keep you all updated on my progress and the birth of our little baby girl, Rilynn Kelly McKillop. But of course, you may receive an email or phone call long before we are able to update the blog!

2 weeks to go, or maybe not

I went back to the doctor last Friday to see how, or if, my body was preparing for labor. My doctor informed me that Rilynn has dropped and everything is moving right along, but I have only dialated to 1cm. Really that doesn't mean very much, just that things could move quickly and I could deliver any day, or that things could move slowly and I could deliver late. However, my doctor is entertaining the idea of inducing me at 39 weeks. Yes, that means next week!!! And now it all really hit me!!! I could be a mom any day now! I am not sure if that scares anyone else, but it sure does me! It hasn't all seemed real until now. I guess I am about as ready as I am going to be though. I am really looking forward to holding my new baby girl!

Well that is really the only update I have for this week. I go back to the doctor this Friday to see if I have progressed any further. I will post again next week to let you all know how things are going. For now, below is a picture of what I look like at just under 38 weeks. I took the picture myself since Matt has been out of town so sorry for the poor quality. And of course, Laidan had to get in there with me. She is really looking forward to meeting her new little sister! :)

A healthy heart

Last Tuesday mom and I went to the perinatologist for an ultrasound. Of course I was extremely nervous going into the appointment, and only got even more nervous as the ultrasound technician asked about my previous ultrasounds and if anything had been found. But fortunately, we only saw good things and heard good news. The perinatologist said that her heart looks perfect. The bashful little one was still hiding her face, she wants her looks to be a complete surprise to mommy, daddy, and the rest of the world when she arrives later this month (hopefully!). We were able to see her arms, legs, fingers, toes, heart (of course), brain, bladder, and kidneys really well. We also got to see how the blood was flowing through her heart and the umbilical cord. We did get a peak at one of her eyes. It was open and it appeared as though she were looking around. She is also really crammed in there right now, partly because her long legs are measuring a week and a half ahead of schedule. She definitely is her daddy's girl!

So that is it, my last ultrasound with little Rilynn. I hated that Matt could not be there, but was really glad that mom was there with me!

While mom was in town we were able to catch a Braves vs Cardinals baseball game, which was really fun (even though the Braves lost, again!). Mom took a few pictures that I will post as soon as she uploads them from her camera. Since they are pictures of me at 36 weeks, you can see just how big my belly has gotten. I will also take some pictures this weekend while at 37 weeks. I really have turned into that pregnant woman that is "about to pop!". And don't worry, that isn't just my opinion, Matt confirmed my beliefs!!!

I do have pictures of the nursery, but forgot to get them off of my camera. I will do that this week and post them as soon as possible. It does look like everything is good to go with the exception of her daddy. Matt gets back from Bloomfield this weekend, then I will officially be "able" to go into labor. I packed my bag for the hospital yesterday and Matt is going to install the carseat this weekend. I go back to the doctor every Friday from here on out to see if my body is preparing for labor. Don't worry, we will let everyone know when the big day finally arrives. Until then, check back often for updates and pictures!

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. They have definitely been answered thus far!
