Over half way there!

At 22 weeks, 5 days I am over half way to the end! I can't believe how time has flown (since my first trimester at least)! Things are going well and moving right along. As you can see from the pictures below, I have not yet become the "chub chub" as some had hoped :) but I am definitely showing. I started wearing maternity clothes in my 19th week and still actually wear some of my pre-pregnancy garb. Although I do not enjoy having a bigger belly (or bigger thighs and back side), it will all be worth it when Rilynn finally arrives. I love feeling her move, which she does a good bit of right now. I am looking forward to feeling more movement over the next 17 weeks.

Last weekend Matt and I ordered her furniture and bedding as well as a chair and ottoman for her room. We also received some adorable outfits from my parents, a bassinet and teddy bear from Matt's parents, a bib and onsie from my sister, Lem, Gabbie, & Coen, and our first non-family baby gift - our pack and play from the Ellerbee's, Watson's, and Jones's. Once the furniture and bedding are delivered and set up, and the nursery is painted and decorated, I will post a picture for all to see.

Also, Matt and I are looking forward to traveling back to Atlanta next weekend for a visit. We have a busy weekend full of baby showers, but I am excited to see my family and friends! I will post again after the showers, and include some pictures, so you can all stay up to date on Baby McKillop!

It's a Girl!

Matt and I went to Hawaii the last week in April, but before we left we went to the doctor to find out what we are having, a boy or a girl. Instead of finding out at the doctor's office, we had the sonogram technician seal the results in a card that we planned to open on our trip. The card traveled in my carry-on during the long journey to Hawaii. After arriving, and not being able to wait much longer, we went down to our hotel's poolside Hawaiian bar that overlooked the beach. At sunset we opened the card to discover that we are having a girl!

Here is a snapshot of the outside of the card:

And the inside of the card:

Even after finding out what we are having, we kept it a secret from our family and friends (with the exception of my sister - I had to tell someone!). The Saturday after returning from Hawaii, we went to dinner at South City Kitchen in Vinings with our parents and Matt's sister. At dinner we had our parents open gifts that we had brought back for the new baby from Hawaii that gave away the gender. They were very excited to find out that we are having a baby girl!

I bet you are wondering about the name now, right?

We decided to go with Rilynn (note the change in spelling). This is a name that I came up with using both of my parents names (Rick from my father's first name, Lynn from my mother's middle name). Naming our first daughter Rilynn was not a difficult decision, but the middle name took a little more work. After a long bus ride to Pearl Harbor and some help from my Blackberry, we decided that we like Rilynn Kelly McKillop.

Now we just have to prepare the nursery and wait for our baby girl to arrive!
